Pastor John will be our special guest speaker this Sunday, February 22nd at our 10:00am service @Federation University, Berwick campus.
Pastor John became a born-again Christian as an International student in New Zealand in early 1970s.
After his university studies, he was involved in church-planting. Later, he became the Senior Pastor of Good News Fellowship (one of the earliest Pentecostal churches in East Malaysia), which has grown to more than 30 ethnic/multicultural churches in the city of Kuching and other towns and villages in East Malaysia.
Under the divine leadings of the Lord, John and his family migrated to Australia in late 1990s. Later on, he was on the pastoral staff of Citylife church (Melbourne) for a couple of years.
In 2004, God called him and his wife, Joanne, to start New Life Church (in Dandenong, Melbourne), which grew to become a very diverse and multicultural church. In December 2022, he successfully handed over the New Life Church to a younger person (someone raised and trained ‘within the house’), the next generation! Presently, John is doing some itinerary preaching and doing also some writings.
John has over 45 years of Christian ministry experiences in church-planting, evangelism, training pastors and church workers, city-wide pastors fellowship, cross-cultural ministry, cell-leadership, counseling, Bible College lecturing, a conference speaker and a Senior Pastor. He has degrees in Economics and Psychology, Theology, MA in Ministry (Hons) and Cert. IV in Training and Assessment.
He is married to Joanne and they have 2 adult sons, Timothy and Peter. Timothy is married to Alethea. Joanne and John are also grandparents.
